Air Pollution in Taipei City

    As the development of Taipei City, it brings lots of advantages and also disadvantages. One of the seriously negative effect is air pollution. Recently, Taipei was in PM2.5’s danger. Air pollution will impact our body and health. For example, the respiratory tract(呼吸道) will feel uncomfortable, skin will be more sensitive and so on. There are some causes of the air pollution.

   

    Too many cars and motorcycles are the main reason that causes air pollution. Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan, it has about 27 millions’ people. Although Taipei has convenient public transportations, such as buses and the MRT, there are still lots of people drive their own cars and ride motorcycles. So the transportations will release a large number of carbon dioxide every day. According to the research, motorcycles are especially release more carbon dioxide than cars. The government wants to improve the situation; they establish some laws to decrease the carbon dioxide release. The government also promote people to ride the bike instead of ride the motorcycle.

    The second cause of air pollution is deforestation. Because of Taipei is an inch of land, an ounce of gold, this is usually a result of land development for agricultural, commercial or recreational purposes. Without the forest, carbon dioxide cannot be changed into oxygen quickly, so it will cause the air pollution too. Recent years, the government had advanced the city greening, they try to use this method to encourage people don’t deforestation and grow some green plants to instead.

    Taipei has lots of buildings, for example, office building, apartments, schools and department stores and so on. Each building will have air conditioner, which is another reason of air pollution. When we turn on the air conditioner, it will release some cooling material, which will make effect on our environment. Air conditioner will also release CFC(氟氯碳化物), which will destroy the ozone layer. (臭氧層) Nowadays the refrigerant has change the ingredient, it won’t destroy the ozone layer, but it will cause greenhouse effect. Although both of the refrigerants will cause damage to our environment, we choose the lesser of two evils.

    Air pollution impacts Taipei a lot and it also effects our health. We should try to decrease the pollution and protect our environment. Uses some ways to modified the condition of air pollution.

Type of Restaurants

    “Bread is the staff of life.” People cannot live without food, so there are lots of restaurants emerge. As the time goes by, we have different type of restaurants be the options for we to choose.     The first type of restaurant is fast food. Fast food is convenient to get and serve very quickly. Most of the fast food restaurants are chain stores. They have mass produced food to supply, the owners just have to follow the SOP (standard operating procedure) to make the food be heating, processing and packing. For example, McDonald's and KFC are the typical members of this type. They are both chain stores and they have similar menu. They sell French fries, fried chicken and hamburgers and so on. Lots of children like to eat fast food because it is delicious and sometimes they can get a toy by buying a meal, so they love it.

  

    

  The second type of restaurant is ethnic. Actually ethnic food means different country’s cuisine. This type of restaurants full of the specialize in nation cuisine. In Taiwan, we can see verity ethnic cuisine, for example Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Each country has their own flavor and some special ingredients because of the climate, habit and location. You don’t have to go aboard; you can also taste the delicious cuisine in Taiwan.

    The last one is the most popular food in Taiwan which is Taiwanese snack. (台灣小吃) As the result of Taiwanese culture, we have night market, which is a best-known spot for tourist and local people. Lots of Taiwanese snack are sold in night market, there are variety different food. Some snacks should eat in with the table and chair because they are not easy to eat while walking. Such as Oyster-filled Omelet (蚵仔煎), Mango ice and Health spareribs soup with Chinese medicine. (藥燉排骨) Others snack are suitable to carry-out, for example bubble milk tea, fried chicken cutlet and pig blood cake. (豬血糕)

    People in Taiwan are very lucky because we have many types of restaurant to choose. There are three main type of restaurants in Taiwan. First is fast food restaurant for the people who don’t want to wait too long. Second one is ethnic restaurant for the people who want to taste the different flavor from Taiwan. The last one is Taiwanese snack, which can represent the night market culture in Taiwan. Both type of restaurants is delicious and unique, you will feel happiness and satisfaction when you visit each type of them.

My Favorite Sights

    In the world, each country has their own beauty and unique culture. Everyone has different fond of the beautiful sights, so we will choose dissimilar country to visit. My favorite sights are in Germany; it is a well development, ancient, and charming country. Because of these features, Germany is a good place for you to go and you might be amazed by the splendid sights. I like these sights because they combine the ancient with modern, just like go into a story to have the adventure.

 Take, for instance, Berlin is the capital of Germany; it is also the largest city in Germany. As the capital, Berlin is a world city of economy, politics, culture and science. The eastern part of Berlin plays the important key of industry. Such as machines manufacture and food products. On the other hand, the western part of Berlin is a consuming city, which rely on the West Germany to invest them. Because of Berlin’s history, it became a serious city. This kind of atmosphere was reflected in their architectures. You can also visit some opera, theater and philharmonic there, you will enjoy in it.

    Another example is Cologne, which is a religion and a major culture center. As a result of it’s wonderful position, it became one of an important inland port in Europe and also the busiest place of the German railway. In Cologne, it is known for Cologne Cathedral, it is the third tallest cathedral in the world. It cost 600 years to finish this magnificent architecture. This cathedral is the style of Gothic, so it is very gorgeous. The cathedral is one of the famous picture-taking sight for tourists in Germany. In addition to the appearance of the cathedral, the inner high altar is also a treasure.

    Finally, Frankfurt is a main city of economy, museums and education. The great writer in Germany is Goethe, who influenced Germany a lot. For example, Frankfurt University uses Goethe’ s name to name the university. This city is famous for Museumsufer, is the concentration of museums. Through visit those museums, I realized more about the history and saw a lot of famous works of art. Frankfurt is also an important city of economy, it was called the economy capital of Germany and European Union.

I like the atmosphere of Germany because it combined history, modern, economy, education and mysterious in such perfect harmony. When I visited those beautiful sights, it is just like a dream that I go with the great artist and the ancients go back to the ancient period, to see the change and develop of the country. That is the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.
